Coffee Talk with Dr. Lyon, FISD Superintendent
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeremy Lyon, along with a member of the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees, will be hosting coffee talks throughout the school year at each of the FISD high schools.
The next one is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, from 8-9 a.m. in the Wakeland HS library. Any parent is invited, however, as each one is held, we will draw more attention to it among the families who live within the zone of that particular high school. There is no agenda or topic, just a time for informal conversation with District leaders. Coffee will be provided.
PLC: Parent Learning Community
Mrs. Andrew, Pink Counselor is organizing a parent learning community to read and meet online discussing books on various topics. She will be hosting our first online book study focusing on the book “The Whole Brained Child” by Dr. Dan Siegel. You can pick up the book this holiday season and read about it on her blog at http://pinkbookstudy.blogspot.com/ (also under “Events for Parents” on her website).
Discussion will begin in January and we will have one meeting in person on January 25th at 8:00 a.m. in the Library.

Pink PTA S.A.G.E Committee
In 2007, Colleen Kugler organized the District’s first Diverse Abilities Day at Fisher Elementary. That year, she called it simply Diversity Day. In 2008, Kugler received a grant from the Frisco Education Foundation to purchase supplies and develop a traveling trunk that other schools could use. Since that time, nearly 20 Frisco ISD schools have hosted events on their respective campuses.
Stay tuned for more information!
Telling is Not Tattling: Reporting Bullying
Part of being a safe school at Pink Elementary involves providing a way for students and parents to report when someone has witnessed bullying. There are a few ways to report bullying. Each classroom has yellow forms students can fill out and give to their teacher or turn in to the office. There is also a link on Mrs. Andrew’s website that goes to a confidential form that will be monitored and investigated. You can always email your child’s teacher if you know of a problem happening at school. Thank you for working with our staff to make Pink a safe place to be!
