ART
The art room is buzzing with creativity this time of year as all of the grades are starting to work on their own unique projects. Kindergarten and First grade will be starting Fall inspired art Second grade will be starting a geometric shape and printmaking unit while third graders will be using ink and texture plates to make animal drawings. Fourth has already dived into the beginning of a historical Japanese cultural art unit that the students are excited about. Towards the end of the month, Kindergarten and 5th grade will be working on art to honor veterans. As you check rotation days, it is best to send children in clothes to "create in" on art days.

MUSIC
In October, we have seasonal and spooky music lessons to share with the students. Younger students will explore music related to the season of Autumn, while older students will listen to classical pieces of music that are spooky in nature, identifying music symbols, instruments, and dynamics. Older students will also explore singing in canon to a classic spooky tune. Fifth graders are going on a field trip to hear the San Antonio Philharmonic perform music related to the weather and will be learning about these pieces in Music class.
