Wrestling Finishes 5th At State Championships

The Howell wrestling program came into the state tournament at Mizzou Arena looking to build on their third-place state finish from a year ago. With eight wrestlers vying for medals the Howell progam had put themselves into a great spot to repeat a final four finish. After a great weekend of wrestling, the Vikings had five wrestlers that medaled at the state tournament. Overall eight Howell wrestlers qualified for state and represented the Vikings. You can view the results for our state medalists below. Congratulations to all wrestlers, coaches, and parents for a great season.


MSHSAA Class 4 - Howell State Medalists

120 lbs - Tyler Kreith (35-5) placed 4th and scored 14.00 team points.
145 lbs - Tyler McGhee (29-12) placed 5th and scored 9.00 team points.
170 lbs - Antonio Jenkins Harris (34-4) placed 4th and scored 14.00 team points.
182 lbs - Dylan Komperda (39-1) placed 3rd and scored 17.00 team points.
195 lbs - Jack Flynn (36-2) placed 2nd and scored 21.50 team points.

Girls Swim Earns Highest State Finish In Program History

It has been an exciting and historic season for the girls swim program. Just last week the Lady Vikings earned only the second GAC swim title in program history and this past weekend they earned the highest state finish in program history by finishing sixth at the MSHSAA Swim Championships. The Lady Vikings medaled in five events and had five team members earn medals. Overall the girls swim program reached the finals in seven events. You can view our state medalists and state finalists below. Congratulations to the girls swim program on a record setting season!

200 Yard Freestyle Relay: (2nd) - Reagan Cathcart, Alyssa Juris, Madison Nguyen, Emma Brabham

400 Yard Freestyle Relay: (2nd) - Madison Nguyen, Natalie Nguyen, Reagan Cathcart, Emma Brabham

200 Yard Medley Relay: (6th) - Alyssa Juris, Emma Brabham, Madison Nguyen, Natalie Nguyen

200 Yard IM: (7th) - Emma Brabham

200 Yard IM: (9th) - Madison Nguyen

Drumline Takes Second; Guard Earns Sixth At MCCGA Competition

Congratulations to the Winter Drumline program on their performance at the Edwardsville MCCGA Competition. Our Vikings earned a second place finish in their division. The Winterguard also had a strong showing at the competition. The "A" Guard earned 6th place while the "B" Guard earned a 7th place finish. Be sure to follow @FHHSVikingBands to stay up to date with all Drumline and Winterguard performances this winter and spring.

Boys Basketball Clinches GAC South Championship For Third Straight Year

With the Thursday night victory over FHC the boys basketball program clinched the GAC South Championship for the third straight year and moved their record to 19-5. Over the course of the past three years the Vikings have amassed a 59-20 record. The Vikings will wrap up the regular season with two games this week. Congratulations to boys basketball on another great regular season.

Official Recognizes Positive Atmosphere At Howell Event

Following last Thursday's boy's basketball game Howell was recognized for their efforts on the court and in the stands through a positive "MSHSAA Special Report." You can view the report written by one of the officials from the game on Thursday night below. Francis Howell High School continues to work toward developing a positive culture at all events through it's emphasis on the #RISE core values of Respect, Integrity, Sportsmanship and Excellence. The goal of the Howell Activities Department is to make all events a positive experience for both students and all spectators. Thank you to all students, staff and fans that attended the game Thursday night and represented Howell in such a positive way.

Bridget O'Reilly Earns MCCA Scholarship

Congratulations to Howell Cheerleader Bridget O'Reilly on earning the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association scholarship. Bridget was one of only two cheerleaders in Missouri to receive this $2000 scholarship. Bridget will receive the scholarship at the MCCA Banquet on March 25th at the Lake of the Ozarks. Congratulations to Bridget on a great accomplishment!

Freshman Basketball Seasons Come To An End

Congratulations to our boys and girls freshman basketball teams on a great winter season. The focus of all lower level programs at Francis Howell is building a strong foundation for future growth in the classroom, in sport and in leadership capacity. It has been exciting watching the growth of these young men and women as the season went on. Congratulations to both programs and we look forward to seeing the hard work during the offseason!
