Celebration and Appreciation!
Thanks to the family of Siena Pollis for the tasty and festive breakfast this week!
Congrats to all of the nominees for the Pillar of Trustworthiness announced at the assembly on Monday: Emily Beagle, Kylie Becraft, Kayla Carroll, Brianna Gasparini, Katie Hernandez, Evan McCarthy. Sienna Perez, Jacob Roman, and Jonathan Rucker. With so many amazing nominees, the decision was tough, but Katie Hernandez was selected. It was great to have her family there to celebrate in person and on facetime!
Congrats to Nevin Harwood and the rest of the Treasure Coast Rowing Club who participated in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston over the weekend. Nevin and his crew placed 34th out of 48 crews in the overall U19 category. For the first time ever the HOCR allowed U17 boats to race. The boat placed 4 out of 5 boats in the U17 category.
Woo hoo! Thanks to the student artists featured last week, Clark received a $1500 donation from the Florida Charter School Conference! I hear some art- fun is being planned by Mrs. Gribble with her talented students!
Many thanks to the students who donated toward the Elev8hope Thanksgiving Baskets. We exceeded our goal of 25 completed baskets. Thanks to Kylie Becraft for organizing the whole thing!
Thanks to the following Girl Up! members who presented about healthy relationships and dating violence during the assembly Monday: Maryam Ali, Falene Arick, Skylar Crumpler, and Katie Hale. The full assembly slides are attached, but make sure to check out this important information.
Shout out to Student Government for planning such a fun-filled Character Counts! week and Interact Club for the really fun afternoon of water games, basketball, 4 square, scavenger hunt, and just good ole' fresh air and fun with friends! Announcements and General Info
Our second blood drive is this Wednesday, 11/03/2021 from 09:00 AM – 02:00 PM. Make an appointment on www.oneblood.org or walkins are welcome! Everyone over age 16 at Clark, IRSC, and in the community can get on the big red bus and save 3 lives with one donation!
Math help is here! Peer tutoring is available almost all day Mon- Fri in the knowledge room. Stop by and get help as needed. Tutoring also available in other subject areas through NHS. See Mr. Judd for that info.
Safe School Ambassadors need to return your permission slips to Mrs. Decker ASAP
ALL Juniors! Save the date for mandatory CPR training on 12/10/21 from 8:45- 9:45 am in the Knowledge Room. This is a requirement by the state of Florida for all 9th and 11th graders.
November is Career development month. Dr. Bonds has MANY opportunities for our students throughout November. See the assembly attachment at the end of this newsletter for all of the details!

Reminder: The Clark school calendar varies slightly from MCSD. Make sure to review it for upcoming days off. There are NO Clark or IRSC classes next Friday as the entire college comes together for Pioneer Day- a day of professional development.
Want to learn more about your skills? The ASVAB Career Exploration Assessment will help you learn about yourself and career options that could be good matches for your skills and interests. The ASVAB will be given at Clark on Friday, November 19th, from 7:50 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Results will be available in an interpretation session on December 10th. Registration is required before November 5th – contact Dr. Bonds via email or phone as soon as possible. Be sure to notify your teachers in advance about class time that will be missed if you plan to participate.

PERT-- IRSC Assessment Center is still utilizing the appointment system, so it’s best for students to still check our availability and book a slot through the appointment calendar before just arriving trying to test. CLUB AND ACTIVITY UPDATES
National Honor Society has been busy making a difference this semester! They exceeded their goal for Thanksgiving food baskets for Elev8hope. They raised almost $1800 at the Indiantown Rodeo for Honor Flight and has upped their goal in order to provide funding for 2 guardians on the next flight this spring. They are just about $600 short from this goal. Tonight they are hosting a movie night for their toy drive through Guardians for New Futures, Inc. See the attached flyer for toy donations they are in need of. Finally, save the date of Nov. 18 for Trivia Night fundraiser and sty tuned for details!
Interact Club meetings are every Monday during lunch in the Dome. New students are always welcome to join! They have been busy the semester raising funds for Water for South Sudan. Last week, they raised $75 through change for change and this week, $460 from water fest, snacks, and candy grams! Great work!!!! So much fun was had at the waterfest this afternoon!

The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy is open to emerging leaders in High School Students 9th-11th Grades, to sharpen their Leadership Skills. Only new students (first time) can apply. The RYLA will occur from March 17–21st, 2022 at Florida Elk’s Youth Camp 24175 SE Hwy 450, Umatilla, FL 32784. Transportation provided via bus. No-one can attend for multiple years unless selected for Jr. Staff role, approved by Chair. Space is limited for this extraordinary opportunity.
SSA (Safe School Ambassadors) led a successful month of #BlueMondays to Stomp Out Bullying. They will be formally trained this week so they can truly be change agents in making sure all students feel safe and included at school and in our community. Thanks to this amazing group of student leaders who said YES to being the change we need.
Girl Up! Membership is always open! Interested students can join our google classroom to be kept up to date. Code: ms7gk4f Members focused this month on healthy relationships and supporting survivors of domestic violence. Next month, plans are in the works for a career panel with women in underrepresented fields.
The ping pong table is available during lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays. Join the fun as a participant or a fan!
Puzzle time! Do you love working puzzles? Stop by the table near the front desk and put a few pieces in during your off blocks. Don't forget, we also have colored pencils for the giant coloring pages near the knowledge room if you want to relax, too!

Make a Difference Mondays! October is anti-bullying month. Clark Safe School Ambassadors encourages all students and staff to #BlueUp in support. Today is the final BLUE MONDAY which is a national event sponsored by StompOutBullying.org. Together we can spread the word that we support a culture of kindness and respect. Many thanks to the Clark students who were selected as Safe School Ambassadors as we know you are the change makers to ensure everyone feels safe and happy on campus!
Take Care Tuesdays! Today is Take Care Tuesday! When it comes to protecting your health, what you eat makes a difference. You can help your body battle colds and viruses by eating foods rich in vitamin C, vitamin B6, and vitamin E — three nutrients essential to immune function. Some great foods to choose include: spinach and other green vegetables, salmon, chicken, and citrus fruits.

Thankful Thursdays! We are thankful to our Student Government students and sponsors who planned this week full of fun while learning more about the pillars of Character Counts! We are all grateful to be at a school where you can learn and have fun!
Fun Fact Fridays! The City of Keene, New Hampshire holds the Guinness World Record for the most lit jack-o'-lanterns on display (a whopping 30,581). Keene was the original record holder in this category and has broken the record eight times since then.

Reminder for parents & guardians that November’s Parents as Partners (renaming pending!) session will be held on Thursday, November 4th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Knowledge Room. All parents and guardians are invited & encouraged to attend to learn about school activities, upcoming volunteer needs and future events as well as have an open conversation with our very own Dr. Denisha Bonds, Career Coordinator, about Career Development Month and the wealth of resources and support she can provide your son/daughter(s)
Starting in November, many of our classes will be using the 7 Mindsets program to help students master social emotional learning (SEL). A handout for parents introducing the 7 mindsets is attached. More resources will be shared throughout the year, but we are excited to continue working with all of our students and staff to have a mindset for happiness and success in and out of school!
Parent/Guardians: If you would like to devote some volunteer time to your child’s school, Clark would love to have you. We appreciate volunteers for as few as 1-1/2 hours per week (1 block), but you are welcome to offer more if you have the time!
