Principal's Message
As a coach, one of my many sayings was, “be a piece of the puzzle.” The things we do as players, coaches, teachers, students, and parents are all pieces to the greater puzzle. As a principal, I have realized that this is true in what we do here at Lincoln.
This time of year marks the halfway point and currently our students are working hard on their mid-year assessments. One thing to remind ourselves as we take a look over the scores is that they are very important, but they are just another piece of the giant puzzle that we call “education”. It is more important to keep the whole child in mind as we view the students. I hope as educators, parents, and students that we remember this. One of my favorite quotes is, “no race ever ran did everyone tie.” We all learn at different paces and at different times in our lives. Keep motivating and inspiring our children to learn! Be their champion!
Video on Being a Kids Champion
I know that test anxiety is a real thing. As a teacher for 15 years, I’ve seen the effects that it can have on kids and adults. Oftentimes we can look at evaluations and think that it is the only measure. But we must continue to remind ourselves that this is not true. We all learn at different rates. It is important to look at our lives with a growth mindset.
With that said, I have seen a tremendous amount of growth! I can’t wait to see more as we head into the rest of the year! Keep up the great work!
