NEW DROP OFF TIMES AND FLOW OF TRAFFIC
Beginning Friday, September 10, we have modified our drop off times for the beginning of the day to help with traffic and congestion on Taft Rd. We will be opening the doors to Meadows at 7:15am (School still starts at 7:30am).
Students who are taking a bus, parent drop off, or walkers will be able to enter the building at this time. Students will go to their respective cafeteria and wait until 7:20am. At that time they will be released to their classrooms.
If you are a parent who drives their students to or from school, please make sure to pull all the way up to allow for the maximum number of cars along the sidewalk. In addition, if you are able to carpool, that might help to alleviate the large number of vehicles in the line.
In addition, please do not drop students off in the middle of the parking lot. This creates an unsafe situation for them and for other drivers who are trying to navigate a busy area. Please wait in the line and drop them off along the curb. They should always exit the vehicle on the right.
Parents of 6th graders who are dropping off students should be aware that buses will need to use the left lane and turn in front of the 6th grade house to access the loading area for students. Please do not block the driveway.
Thank you again for your patience as we focus on getting students to and from school safely.
Sincerely,
Principals Fenchel and Brickey
REMINDER! PLEASE SEND STUDENTS TO SCHOOL WITH DEVICES FULLY CHARGED!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
The New “Normal”
During phone calls with parents over the past few weeks, we have heard a common question, “is this emotion/avoidance/issue/etc. normal so early in the school year?” And the reality is that there is currently no “normal”. We are all re-learning how to be social again and that can be particularly difficult for adolescents.
Something to consider for many Meadows students, this is the first time since March 2020 that your child has been
in person at school daily
with all their classmates from their home elementary school + over 100 new to district students. Welcome new to Novi families!
with all +500 students combined from the five Novi elementary schools
So, we expect some bumps in the road! Just as we would during a “normal” year. Adults can support children by listening, being empathetic, modeling social skills, and encouraging conflict resolution. We will work together to make this a positive school year for all!
