URGENT NEED FOR PTA SECRETARY
URGENT NEED FOR PTA SECRETARY BEFORE TUESDAY MTG!
The Secretary takes attendance and minutes during the meetings, including action items and due dates, and finalizes them for posting for reference and for families that were not able to attend. Because we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we are legally required to have publicly available minutes, including for our upcoming meeting on Tuesday. See our website for details about applying!
FINAL WEEKEND FOR OPT-IN TO THE STUDENT DIRECTORY!
A new school year is a great chance to make new friends and family connections and get help with answering questions about classes from other families. Families must sign up every year to be included in the Directory. Opt-in by Sunday using this link:
Information from Crestview Social Worker, Dawn Blankenship
Hello!
Attendance:
Now that families have committed to either the hybrid model or the Virtual Learning Academy, we will be monitoring attendance in a couple of ways.
- If your child is participating in Virtual Learning Academy, completed assignments and participation in the synchronous (live) sessions tells us students are in attendance. If there is a day they cannot participate or do their assignments, please let the teacher know when they can make up the work and the reason they couldn’t participate.
- If your child is doing hybrid, absences will be recorded if a child does not attend on their in-person day AND if assignments are NOT completed on the days they are not in school.
If your student has 3 or more unexcused absences, we are required to file a report with Washington County Truancy Diversion. Parents/guardians will be asked to meet to develop a plan on resolving truancy issues.
Food resources:
In the past few years, families had the option to sign up for weekend food packs. We will be offering this option again in the near future. If you are needing food assistance, please let me know if you would like a pantry pack provided by SoWashCoCares. They are available on Fridays until the regular food packs get started through The Sheridan Project.
Grief Support:
If your family has experienced a loss and you would like support, Allina’s Growing Through Grief counselor is available to help children and families virtually or in-person at Crestview. This service is free.
Mental Health Support:
We will partner once again with Ellie Family Services for therapy services. At this time, all therapy is done virtually. If you would like a referral, please contact me.
Clothing resources:
Crestview houses a free clothing closet for families to access. Because of the pandemic, we are limiting access to the room, however, contact me and I can “shop” for you. We have lots of pants, shirts and other items. All items have been laundered and are free.
