The Reciever: Ceremony of 12
Angel, January 1, The Communtiy
The Ceremony
Welcome back to another issue of the The Receiver .This December saw the celebration of the annual aging ceremonies, including the important Ceremony of Twelve. After gathering the citizens in The Community, the naming started and then the ceremony two and the rest of the ceremonies continued. Then the ceremony of twelve, the nerve racking ceremony, came and started. All was going fine, until the Chief elder skipped one boy named Jonas. The crowd was shocked and miffed. After the ceremony ended, the Chief elder knew what happened and then the moment came. The moment Jonas feared most. The assigning.
Qualities of a Receiver
The Chief Elder said Jonas "has shown all of the qualities that a Receiver must have, including "intelligence...integrity...courage...and...wisdom." The chief elder said that Jonas has the Capacity to See Beyond though
only the current Receiver and Jonas understood the statement meant. When the chief elder asked Jonas about his ability he said,"I think it's true. I don't understand it yet. I don't know what it is. But sometimes I see something. And maybe it's beyond."
A Receiver in Training
The Chief Elder continued to say that Jonah must be alone during his training, separate from others in the Community. The job of a receiver is a great honor in the community as said by the chief elder. The chief elder also stated that he has a tough training period ahead of him. That training will include pain of a magnitude that none of here can comprehend because it is beyond our experience. THe training will be tough and No one is available to comment on this, as only the current Receiver understands the training.
