because it helps to know what's going on
On your mark, get set, go!!!!!!!
Our family has dubbed this summer, the "Summer of Celebration." It seemed as though we were hosting major events at our house all summer long. Both Libby and Mason have graduated high school. Libby will head to Purdue on August 13th, and then Mason will leave one week later for Basic Training at Fort Benning in Georgia. Leo will be a senior this year, Shaye will be a junior, and Lex will be a freshman. That all seems insane to me. We also took some time to celebrate and thank close friends who were with us in Florida last spring when Kevin suffered his stroke. We also hosted a family gathering to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday, and now I am preparing to host a 70th birthday party for my dad. See, I told you.......the "Summer of Celebration."
Our starting line to the 180 day dash is quickly approaching. It's hard to believe we are about to tackle the 2018-19 school year! We are blessed to have a group of people that are both dedicated and fun to work with. So let's get started!!!! On your mark, get set......Go!!!!!

What's New??
- The technology department was busy this summer helping overhaul our devices. All staff computers have been upgraded, ipads have been removed and 15 Chromebooks will now be placed in every Gen. Ed. Classroom.
- This year will also be the start of the site, "Think Tank," for helpdesk and leave requests.
- You will learn more about a new resource called Schoology, which is a learning management system our district will begin using. It is a one stop shop for assignments, communication, etc. for students and families.
- Curriculum organization work has begun. Several teachers met this summer to begin organizing our curriculum in one location.
- ILEARN will replace ISTEP this year. We will learn more about what to expect once our year gets going.

*Disclaimer* These lists are not final. I may have to make some switches. We are also still in the process of receiving withdraws and new students, so these lists will likely change.

South students will reach or exceed the reading level for their grade.
South students will meet or exceed math proficiency levels for their grade.
South students will master all of their math facts.
South students will write at a proficient level for their grade.
