TECHNOLOGY
Resources for Supporting Healthy Tech Use
There are many resources out there to help parents create healthy habits for their children when it comes to tech use. In December I shared CommonSense Media.
Another resource to explore is ConnectSafely.org. ConnectSafely is a Silicon Valley, Calif.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people about online safety, privacy, security and digital wellness. Their website allows parents to explore a variety of topics and guides. Check it out!Feedback on the Cambrian Website Needed
We are always interested in improving communication with our families. Bay Area Storm Resources:
The National Weather Service has warned that the Bay Area will be hit with two storms this week. The first storm scheduled to impact Santa Clara County was on Wednesday and Thursday and it could potentially bring rain, strong winds, and power outages.
These weather systems are an excellent reminder to take the time to prepare for an emergency. Below are some important reminders to keep yourself and your family safe.
Have a “go” bag ready if evacuations are necessary. Make sure to include any necessary medications and pet supplies.
Keep your mobile devices fully charged and have backup portable chargers available.
Make preparations ahead of time such as grocery shopping, full tanks of gas, drains and gutter clear of debris, etc.
Have flashlights and batteries available.
Travel only when necessary and stay updated on road conditions.
Avoid flooded areas and down power lines. If you see a down power line call 9-1-1 or PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
Do not drive, walk, or swim through flood waters.
