Student Achievement
Ms. Simon's pre school student had 'Buddy the Elf' on their shelf this week!
Mrs. Beverly’s preschool school students have been learning about the Holiday Seasons through many fun activities. They have been decorating Dr. Gruccio's Christmas Tree, enjoyed a Gingerbread Baking Center/Candy Construction Center, had fun making ornaments, were super creative with Santa Hat Letter Identification and even visiting with Santa Claus!!
WISHING ALL A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON!!
Mrs. Ebert’s first graders “take charge of their own learning” by taking time to share a favorite book with classmates. After watching a video to learn how stuffed bears are made in factories, they used their “fuzzy buddies”, connecting cubes, and growth-mindsets to learn about measuring and expand their vocabulary with precise language such as height and width. Learning is so much fun with our favorite “lovies”!
Teachers and parents planned and participated to make a magical day for first grade.
Mrs. Wilhelm, our “Conductor” began our morning by reading the story of the Polar Express to many listening ears. Creativity with marshmallows took over as some made polar snowmen designs! The afternoon brought a game full of surprises and crafty gingerbread men to make while parents joined in for holiday fun. The day ended with a visit to Ms. Webster’s room where we experimented with baking soda and shaving cream to make “snowballs”…how clever!
Mrs. Corea and Mrs. Trinkle's class made a snowman craft at their Holiday Party. The parents organized the craft and had the great idea of taking photos with a snowy background!
Santa's reindeer went on strike and he needed the help of Mrs. Sansom's and Ms. Sheridan's 3rd graders. The students had the task of creating a wind powered sleigh for Santa made out of just one straw, a sheet of card stock, and 12 inches of tape. With the guidance of EHT High School's shadow student, Nick Lear, the boys and girls worked in pairs and designed some amazing sleighs. When put to the flight test, John and Julian's sleigh flew the farthest at 12 feet. Santa will now be ready to go on Christmas Eve!
Mr. Vo's students are working on teamwork and communication with hula hoops in gym class! A group of 3rd graders worked hard to build a double hoola hut!
