Little Cedars Elementary

Home of the Wolverines - September 10th

Message from the Principal - Mrs. Nielsen

Dear Little Cedars Families,

What a wonderful first week of school! It has been great getting to know each of the students, hearing the laughter on the playground, watching the learning taking place in the classroom, and just having all the students back! My heart if full! We are so excited to welcome our Kindergartners on Monday, September 13th!

Thank you for the emails, phone calls, flowers and cards welcoming me to Little Cedars! I am so fortunate to have such a supportive community! Have a fantastic weekend!

Anne Nielsen

Principal, Little Cedars Elementary

Important Reminders from this week:

Parent Drop-off: we are asking parents to stay in the car and do not let students out until 8:00 am.

Parent Pick-up: *please have your child/ children's name and grade on a sheet of paper in your windshield. This will help us find your child quicker and have the line not get so backed up. **Please stay in your car to pick-up your child. **Please do not use the upper parking lot- this is for buses only.

Water bottles: please have your child bring a water bottle. Drinking fountains are still turned off.

Cell phones/ smartwatch: please remind your child that cellphones need to stay in their backpacks throughout the day. If they are wearing a Smartwatch, please remind your child not to use the calling or texting feature during the school day.

The Kindergartners' first day is on Monday, September 13th.

Mask/face coverings

In the guidance and from directives from Governor Inslee, masks/face coverings are required inside of all K-12 schools and on all buses, regardless of vaccination status. This is a state requirement. Masks/face coverings are not required when outdoors. If students are playing gaga ball, basketball or soccer, we are asking for them to wear masks because they will not be socially distanced playing those games. Mask/face covering exceptions may be made for students with certain medical conditions or receiving special education services in some cases and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Bus Transportation

Please use our eLink/Versatrans online tool to find your student’s eligibility for bus service, bus stops and route information. Please use the eLink/Verstrans online tool.) 2021-2022 routes and schedules will be available in eLink/Verstrans after Monday, August 30. After that time, please call the Transportation Office at 360-563-3525 if you don’t see route/schedule information available for your student.

The eLink/Verstrans online tool contains the most up-to-date and detailed schedule and stop information. After Monday, August 30, click here to find your eligibility for bus service and your student's bus route/schedule.
