A Note From The Principal
George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academy Families,
As the principal of the George and Veronica Phalen Leadership Academy, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for a great school year! It has been truly an honor to serve the GVP school community. I am also very privileged to work with an outstanding team of educators that are excited to partner with you to ensure that your child receives an exceptional education.
We have been working incredibly hard this summer engaged in planning and preparation for a successful school year. Our goal at GVP is to encourage active scholar engagement that fosters a lifetime love for learning. I have high expectations for each and every scholar that attends GVP, and will lead with the intentions set forth by our mission to ensure that every scholar meets high academic standards and thrive as leaders at home, in the community, and in the world. Together, along with our dedicated team of educators, we will strive to make meaningful connections with our scholars that make them feel loved and valued all while providing a rigorous and joyful learning environment. Families please note the first day of school is August 18, 2022.
To kick off a great school year, we will be hosting an “Meet the Teacher Night” on Monday, August 15, from 5:00-7:00 pm at GVP. This will be a great opportunity for your scholar to meet their new teacher prior to the start of the school year. I encourage all families to attend our first school event as involvement between home and school is extremely important and will be critical for the success of our scholars.
Along with parent involvement, I believe communication is extremely important. Communications are frequently updated on our school website and social media outlets. Be sure to stay up to date with our newsletters and social media updates for important dates and upcoming events. Also, please find included our school calendar, dress code policy, and school supply lists as you prepare for the upcoming school year.
On behalf of myself and our incredible team of educators, thank you for entrusting your scholar’s education with us. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at 317-333-6980 or at jcarrion@phalenacademies.org.
