Update on Resources for Teaching Remotely
Obviously, almost everyone is feeling the pressure to teach remotely for the next three weeks depending on how your district is responding to the Governor's school closure due to Covid-19. I know educators already have some things in place and are also always looking for new resources, especially now those that will help with teaching remotely.
Genesee ISD Education and Learning and Technology and Media Services are collaborating on the curation of resources to help educators teach K-12 students remotely. Of course, this will take some time and we hope to push out information early next week. We plan to have a landing page on our website that will contain links to the resources curated for each of the main subjects.
What You Can Do Now
Be watchful and share resources from companies that are offering free access to resources that are normally behind a paywall. For example, Social Studies School Services are providing free access to Young Citizen, Active Classroom, and Nystrom World until the end of the year. For full access contact Curriculum Specialist La Keshia Neal via lakeshia@socialstudies.com or 734-516-7377.
Another example is BrainPop. You just have to request free access by clicking on the link at the top of their website.
In the meantime, checkout the three lists of curated resources below that were shared during the most recent Elementary Social Studies Teacher Leaders' meeting.
