Fall of the Berlin Wall
1989
Welcome to the 1980s
Nothing beats the feeling of the sun on your shoulders, the wind brushing through your hair, and your favorite song, "Bust a Move" by Young M.C., blasting through the speakers of your LTD Crown Victoria. Hello, my name is Abigail and after just recently moving to Germany on February 19th, (my 22nd birthday) I received a job as a writer. I had no idea that 1989 would be such a perfect time in my career to move to Berlin, Germany.
One of my recent writings was about the filming start for "The Little Rascals" with Brittany Ashton Holmes. This movie is supposed to be a huge event. Some other movies that will soon be coming out also include "Batman" and "The Little Mermaid".

The Fall of The Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall has stood for many years separating the east and west side of Germany. But on November 9th, 1989, a history changing event took place. Ronald Reagan recently performed a speech by the Berlin Wall not knowing what would come next. The wall that we all know of, became no more. Gunter Schabowski, the east German leader, announced that a break in the wall would be made for private trips. I saw many from all over the world gather to chisel out a hole in the wall. On December 22nd, checkpoints were opened at the Brandenburg Gate and at Postdamer Platz in the Berlin Wall. Months after in March, an east election that hasn't been held for the last 58 years took place. I was able to sit in on the emotional voting event and was touched greatly. When July 1st came around, there was nothing left of the wall. This was a very emotional event for Germany and I hope others, like I did, can take away and inspiration from this event and the fact that Germany is united once again.
