Extended Day Tutoring
Starting September 12th our Academic Interventionists will be on hand in the Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:10 and in the Study Lab Wednesday mornings from 7:15 – 8:00.
Students can come and work on their missing assignments or get the extra instruction they might need. Snacks are available and each time they attend Extended Day, students will be entered in a drawing for a free Idaho Pizza Company personal pizza for lunch once a week. Don't wait until the end of quarter to get help or get caught up. Start the quarter off right and get that credit without last minute stress.
Frank Church is now a community school!
We are the 5th school in the Boise School District to become a community school.
What is a Community School?
A community school is a central place in which children, youth, and families receive a range of supports and services to meet their needs and expand learning opportunities to students during the school day.
Community schools offer a food pantry, clothing closet, as well as other basic needs items to students, their families, and the surrounding community. This year at Frank Church, we will be working on developing relationships with other agencies to provide health, dental, and nutritional services to students and their families. We are excited to become a part of the growing movement of community schools and to connect youth and families to resources in our community!
Boise Public Library to offer BSD students library cards
September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Boise School District Libraries have partnered with the Boise Public Library to provide junior high and high school students an easy way to get public library cards!
By completing this simple form, parents can request a new or duplicate library card for their child that will be delivered to their school. Even students who live outside the boundaries of Boise Public Libraries will be eligible to receive library cards through this collaboration.
Having a public library card means that your child can check out books from their public library, access ebooks and audiobooks, and use a variety of research databases through Boise Public Library. This provides a great complement to the collections and online resources provided by Boise Public Schools and the state of Idaho, and it will prepare students for life after high school by promoting lifelong library use.
If you have questions about this collaboration, please feel free to contact your school librarian Mrs. Bothwell (kristin.bothwell@boiseschools.org) or district librarian Erin Downey (erin.downey@boiseschools.org).

Thank you to the Assistance League of Boise for their continued support.
Operation School Supplies (OSS) is a philanthropic project of Assistance League of Boise (ALB). OSS has been providing school supplies to the children of Ada County since 1996. This year we are able to provide 93 elementary, middle, junior high, charter and alternative schools with approximately $95,000 worth of school supplies. The 16,037 students selected by school counselors or teachers will receive supplies which include crayons, erasers, pencils, pens, glue sticks, rulers, notebook paper, spiral notebooks, paints, felt markers, and colored pencils, and other items.
ALB is a member of National Assistance League and we are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic projects in Ada County. Other ALB programs include: Operation School Bell, Teen Retail, History in the Bown House, Cinderella’s Closet, Project Hearing, Baby Bundles, and Empowering Youth.
Funds for our programs come from community donations, private contributions, grants, and the operation of the ALB Thrift Shop at 5825 Glenwood Avenue. The public is invited to visit our Thrift Shop, and to support our programs by donating good quality used clothing and small household items.
