COMMUNITY MESSAGE
THANK YOU to our families for your open communication regarding exposures and test results.
If your child has been exposed or is showing symptoms, please let us know as soon as possible and keep your child(ren) at home. We will put together a short-term independent study contract for their absence.
As you likely know, when we are notified that a Holbrook community member has tested positive for COVID, a community letter, which is a general all-school notice (informational) is shared with all Holbrook families and staff members.
In an effort to be transparent, if the positive case is within your child's classroom, you will receive a "Classroom Exposure Letter."
"Close contacts" will receive an additional letter with next steps. If you have not received this separate notice, you can consider your child an indirect contact, and no further action is required on your part.
As members of a compassionate and caring community, I ask everyone to respect each other’s privacy, especially around health information.
Thank you for your support as we do everything we can to keep our entire Holbrook community healthy and safe.
BE A "MASK" MASTER
National School (HEALTHY) Attendance Awareness Month
People with COVID-19 can have a "wide range of symptoms, which may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus." Please refer to the below links (Spanish and English) Symptoms of Covid-19 Chart to help us keep our Holbrook community safe.
If your student exhibits any of the symptoms in the chart, your student should not come to school, and the school should be notified. If any of these symptoms appear while your student is at school, we will notify you to pick up and test your student.

Please help us be safe by wearing masks indoors and washing hands often.
DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
**Please do not drop off students before 8AM, as there is no adult supervision.
Vehicles:
- For drop-off, use the white zone that runs adjacent to the school.
- Stay in line and move forward--follow the car in front of you.
- Please do not park/leave your vehicle if you are in the white zone.
- Always use crosswalks when crossing the street.
- If you are walking to the school, please say goodbye to your child at the main gate, and they will walk to the yard where they will be supervised until the bell rings.
- At dismissal, students will be lined up in their grade level zones.
- If you are walking to the school, please allow students to safely exit by remaining in the marked parent waiting area.
- If you are driving through the pick-up lane, use the white zone that runs adjacent to the school.
- Please remain in your vehicle, stay in line, and move forward--follow the car in front of you.
- A staff member will call for your child.
- If you have children in multiple grade levels, please come to the later (or latest) dismissal time. This will help us move the car line along.

IN-PERSON #FALLFORALL
MDUSD is proud to bring all students and staff back in a physically and emotionally safe environment! The safety of our staff and students remains our primary focus. While it has always been a priority, it takes on a greater role in our planning process now more than ever.
Protocols, procedures, and plans are based on Mt. Diablo Unified, city, county, and state guidelines, and are subject to change based on the latest information and data.
Each classroom has been equipped with a bottle of disinfectant, hand sanitizer, wipes, student masks, a plexiglass sneeze guard shield for staff, and upgraded air filters (MERV 13). Our custodians are working to checking to make sure sinks are working properly and are equipped with functioning district-approved soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers. Signage reminding families and students to wear a mask are posted around campus. Restrooms, water fountains, and a water filling station in the cafeteria are available for students and staff.
