Ms. Shannon Ewing is Coweta County Teacher of the Year!!! CONGRATS!
Congratulations, Shannon Ewing, Coweta County Teacher of the Year!
After being named Elm Street Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Ewing was named one of three finalists for Coweta County Teacher of the Year. Last week, an independent trio of judges visited Mrs. Ewing (and the other two finalists) to observe her in action with students and then conduct an interview. Then, on Wednesday, April 27, Mrs. Ewing was announced as 2016 Coweta County Teacher of the Year!
It was an honor and privilege to introduce Mrs. Ewing during Wednesday night's ceremony and a pleasure to hear her talk about her work. I think many in the audience had their eyes opened to what an outstanding Media Specialist does each day!
I know our staff and students were overjoyed to celebrate Mrs. Ewing, too! It was such fun to recognize her with a Celebration Lap on Thursday morning; we all loved seeing and hearing our students and staff cheering for her.
Mrs. Ewing, you represent us well, showcasing the excellence of Elm Street Elementary and Coweta County School System. Congratulations again!
Below are a few photos and cheers from Thursday's Celebration Lap in honor of Mrs. Ewing!

Celebrating Mrs. Wimbley during a secret part of the Milestones Pep Rally
It was such a joy to hear our students bragging about her strengths and talents, applauding loudly for her, and presenting cheers and chants in her honor. We were all beaming with pride for her as she wore her crown and took her place in the seat of honor.
Loved the way our grade level teams worked together secretively to come up with unique ways to honor Mrs. Wimbley for all she does to support our school. A few clips and photos appear below. It was an AWESOME afternoon in honor of our truly AWESOME Assistant Principal!
We love you, Mrs. Wimbley!!!

Distinguished Young Men of Elm Street
Thank you, Mr. Petch and Mr. Liggins, for your work with Distinguished Young Men of Elm Street on Wednesdays! It was wonderful to see our young men dressed for success each week. We have all noticed their mannerly ways as well, holding doors open for others upon entering or exiting, standing to let others be seated, and more. Looking forward to seeing our young men carry forth these traditions in the weeks and years ahead.
Top TEN - One month remains!
