Mrs. Clark encourages your child to get ARTSY this summer!
GO ON AN ART ADVENURE!
Visit an art museum (most in KC are free), see public sculptures on vacation, take an art class, make artwork at home or check out art books and DVDs from the public library. Photograph your child on their art adventure and email the picture to her at
megclark@usd232.org. She will use these pictures in a special display for the start of the 2016-17 school year.
UPLOAD NEW ART! Download the Artsonia app FREE from the Itunes store for Iphone or Ipad and have your student log in with this school access code: RMPP-SYDD to add new artwork. The app is very user friendly and students in 1st-5th grade have already learned to use it in art class! When choosing a project, simply choose “Artwork Made at Home.” Once the image is uploaded, it will be approved by Mrs. Clark before it goes “live” on the public gallery.
CREATE PERSONALIZED GIFTS Father’s Day, school year graduation and summer birthdays are a great time to give personalized gifts from Artsonia.com. T-shirts, mugs, water bottles, tote bags, books, canvas prints and smartphone covers are just a few of the items available. And when you treat someone to a personalized gift you can also feel good about your donation to CCE, as 20% of the purchase price gets donated back to our CCE PTO to support the programs within our school. Thank you for all of your support through Artsonia.com this school year.

Volunteer with Girls on the Run
Volunteer with Girls on the Run
Coach a Team at Clear Creek
Coaching a Girls on the Run team is the most rewarding way to get involved with Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City. Coaches are not required to be runners, they simply must be passionate about the mission of Girls on the Run, committed to working with a group of girls throughout the 10 week season. Each coach possesses infectious enthusiasm, strong character, and the joyful spirit necessary to educate and motivate girls. All share the desire to work with girls from different races, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and to prepare each girl for a healthy adolescence and adulthood. There are many ways to become a GOTR coach.
Our volunteer coaches work with girls after school, leading them through the Girls on the Run-developed curriculum, stretching and running activities, and training for the end-of-season 5K run. Programs meet twice a week for 60-75 minutes. The program is offered twice a year from September-November (fall season), and March-May (spring season).
Girls on the Run lead coaches are male or female and at least 21 years of age. Assistant coaches are at least 18 years of age. All coaches must pass a background check before the season begins.
If you are interested in being a GOTR coach at Clear Creek, please contact Marilyn Boaz at meboaz@gmail.com you can also email coaches@gotrkc.org with any questions and for more information, go to http://www.gotrkc.org/getinvolved/volunteer
End of the Year Clean Up in the Nurse's Office
As the school year comes to a close, it’s time to clean out the medication cabinet in the health office. All medications need to be safely returned back to you for the summer. Over the counter medications can be sent home with students on the last day of school, May 20th. Please let me know if you would prefer not to have them returned in this manner. I can set up other arrangements upon request. Please call or e-mail me to let me know if it is NOT okay to send home in backpacks.
Prescription medications (such as pills/tablets, inhalers, Epi-pens, etc) will NOT be sent home with students unless consent is given. Please call or email me to let me know how your child’s medication will return home. This is to ensure the medication arrives safely home without any incidents. My last day in the building will be Monday, May 23rd, and I will be leaving at noon. All medications not picked up by 5/23/16 @ 12pm, will be discarded (per district policy) unless other arrangements have been made with me.
Please contact me with any questions!
Thank you,
Nurse Amanda
