PRE PTO Carnival
Our annual Spring Thing Fundraiser will take place Friday, May 3rd from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. We have lots of fun planned for the evening including inflatables, games, food and a basket raffle. In order to make this event a success we need lots of volunteers to assist. We need help with set-up, event staff and clean up. Together we can make this a great night for our students and their families!

PTO Needs You!
Do you want to give back and volunteer to help your child’s school? Have you thought about becoming more involved in PRE’s PTO? We are currently looking for several volunteers for the 2019-2020 school year.
Board Position
*Co-VP of Social affairs—Responsible for Staff appreciation and Culinary events. Includes organizing Teacher appreciation week, staff meals during conferences (some catered and some donated by parents) creating sign up geniuses for PTO’s culinary needs. Attending meetings once a month on Wednesdays.
Would you like to get more involved in PTO but you do not have the time to commit for a full year? We are also looking for volunteers to head up a few events.
*Kindergarten Boo Hoo/ Yahoo Breakfast-organizing pastries and coffee for kindergarten parents on the first day of school. Finding volunteers to help you set up and serve breakfast, creating a flier and text for facebook posts.
*Spirit Wear Sales—Working with our vendor for purchase and delivery of spirit wear. Includes selling shirts at back to school night and one order in the fall. Responsible for fliers and money collection.
*Carnival—Looking for two or three individuals, preferably parents with a K, 1st or 2nd graders to start learning about carnival and take over in a 2-3 years.

PRE Talent Show
We are excited to announce the Prairie Ridge Elementary Spring 2019 Talent Show!
Here are the main points and requirements:
· The talent show will include PRE students in grades 1-5 in individual and group acts.
· Students may participate in ONE act.
· All acts will be capped at two minutes.
· Acts will be approved, and any music, dress, and content need to be appropriate for elementary students.***Specific information will be given for preparing the music.
· Fifth graders will be the Tech Crew and MCs for the show.
· All talent show forms are due by May 3, 2019.
· The talent show will be held on Wednesday, May 22 with rehearsals after school on May 20 & 21 from 4:00-5:00 P.M. Each act will attend ONE rehearsal, and your date will be communicated to you after all forms are returned.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2019-20
Safety Patrol:
Safety Patrol (4th-5th graders) will be responsible for helping students arrive to school and leave school safely. Training will be required, and students will be assigned times to carry out their responsibilities.
Student Council Assembly Planning and Presenting:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan and present assemblies. There will be one assembly/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to do this work. This would be a great opportunity for students who enjoy speaking and presenting in front of others.
Student Council Spirit Day Coordination:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan spirit days. There will be one spirit week/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to plan these days. Students will also make posters to promote the spirit days.
Student Council Ambassadors:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will act as greeters at specific events, such as Back to School Night. The ambassadors will also assist kindergartners, especially at the beginning of the year. This is a great opportunity for students who feel comfortable greeting others.
Technology Team:
The technology team (4th graders) will work with Mrs. Porras and assist with technology needs.
Librarian Assistants:
Librarian Assistants (4th and 5th graders) will work with Mrs. Ptacek and Mrs. Sudac to perform library tasks.
Recycling Team:
Third graders will have the opportunity to serve on the recycling team. Team members will work with Mrs. Reinoehl and assist with recycling twice a week.
Announcements:
Fifth graders will carry out daily announcements.
Every student who wishes to participate and fills out an application will be on at least one team.
