Howell Programs Raise $1837 At Basketball Game For Cystic Fibrosis

A trademark of Howell activities, clubs and sports is a committment to being involved in our community and supporting causes that benefit others. On Friday night the girls basketball, boys basketball, cheerleading and GG's & Co. programs came together for the Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Night. Viking fans had the opportunity to purchase t-shirts to support the event and several activities took place over the course of the evening. Over 1,600 Viking fans attended the basketball games and supported this great event. Thank you to our Howell family for raising $1837 on Friday night for Cystic Fibrosis!

So far this school year, Howell programs have raised nearly $25,000 for charities and performed nearly 1,500 hours of service in our community. Thank you to our coaches, students, parents and Viking fans for continuing to support these great opportunities for our programs to give back to our community. These opportunities are a major component of our programs and are the foundation of preparing our student-participants to be more successful in life after high school.

Offseason Conditioning Across All Sports Seeing Record Numbers

When asked what sets Howell programs apart from others the words hard work, dedication and committment to excellence are the first that come to mind. You could also not find three better words to describe the offseason conditioning that has been taking place in our offseason programs. Since the start of second semester our offseason programs are averaging over 400 student-athletes attending offseason conditioning after school each day. Our coaches, student-athletes and parents continue to raise the bar and support the efforts taking place in our programs. This school year the Howell Activities Department was named the 2nd ranked public school athletic program in the State and was ranked 343rd nationally out of 27,000 high schools because of the efforts of our Howell family members to continue to strive for great opportunities and outcomes in our programs. Thank you to all of our dedicated coaches, students and staff for all they do to represent Howell at both the state and national level! Viking fans look forward to seeing the hard work pay off!

Custodial & Maintenance Staff Works Hard To Make Practices & Games Possible

With the recent inclement weather our custodians and maintenance staff have been tasked with cleaning our parking lots, sidewalks and preparing Howell for school, practices, games and events taking place on campus. This group goes above and beyond to help us have our events that take place at Howell and we are greatly appreciative of all of their efforts. Howell is a very large campus and it takes a large amount of manpower as well as time to prepare our building. Please take the time to thank our custodians and maintenance staff next time you see them on campus for all they do for the Activities Department and our events!
