Meadows Messenger

Weekly update for the Meadows Elementary School community

Greetings Meadows Families,

We will be hosting our first "Coffee with the Principal" on September 5th from 8:00am-9:00am. It's an opportunity to bring questions, comments, concerns in an informal setting with Dr. Fine, Principal and Mrs. Van Gelderen, Assistant Principal. Please save the date and you'll have the opportunity to learn and ask questions about how we create a positive school culture and focus on school safety.

On that note, please know that the safety of your children is our number one priority. We partner with you, our families, in order to make every aspect of the day safe. This includes pedestrian traffic and the valet line. Please make sure to follow all of our safe traffic and pedestrian rules.

  • For the valet line, there is one point of entry for vehicles off of Fedala. No u-turns are allowed once you enter the parking lot.
  • For before and after school pick up, buses, Sunshine and Ekada vans are the only vehicles allowed to pull into the staff lot. Parents are not allowed to park in the staff lot unless handicap parking is required.
  • At the front gate, during dismissal, please leave the pathway clear for the children to exit.
  • If you are dropping off in the valet line, please make sure your child's backpack is on their lap and ready to go. This allows for an efficient exit.
  • Please keep our parent volunteers, the Meadows Guardians, our teachers and staff safe by being courteous and following traffic rules.

Thank you for partnering with us and keeping our students and families safe!

Purchase Meadows Spirit Gear!

Click here on this link to purchase children and adults' spirit gear. Every Friday is spirit day and we'd love for every child and parent to show solidarity and unity as one school by wearing your gear. They're soft cottons and the new theme is "Reach for the Stars". A portion of every purchase is a donation to the school. The t-shirt shop closes on 9/2. Purchase now before it's too late.

Student Guardians Team, Volunteer for Meadows

Students in 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade are eligible to participate in the Student Guardians Team. Students will be assigned to either the front or back gate. They will open car doors and greet students as they exit their cars in the valet lane. These students will remain on the sidewalk when assisting students out of cars in our drop-off area. Students will wear a bright colored vest and will be supervised by a district employee and the Meadows Guardian throughout their duty each morning.

Being a Student Guardians Team member is a commitment. Students will be scheduled to valet duty a week at a time on a rotating basis, most likely one week a month. They will arrive at 7:30 AM and help with valet until 7:55 AM when they attend the morning ceremony.

Click here for more information. You can print the letter and permission slip. It is due Friday, August 30th.
