A Message From the Principal
As we continue our campaign to raise awareness about bullying prevention in our schools. Here at Silver Springs will be doing things to promote kindness. For example, each Monday during the month of October let's all wear blue to promote kindness!
This week's Choose Kindness Challenge is to wear a shirt with a positive message on it!
I'm looking forward to another great Choose Kindness Week!
Here's to a fun, kind, October!
Katie Booth, Principal
Halloween Parade - October 31st 2:00 p.m.
Silver Springs will be celebrating Halloween with our annual costume parade on October 28th. The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m. We will parade around the hallways of the school. Parents will have a special viewing location in the gym.
Please follow these guidelines when planning your child's costume:
-Please make sure the costume is weather appropriate (students will go outside for recess)
-Students are responsible for their costumes not causing a problem during learning time.
-Face make-up, hairspray, etc. must be applied at home.
-No fake weapons of any kind are allowed at school.
-No fake blood and no scary costumes (if it would scare a kindergartener, please don’t wear it!)
All adults participating at school celebrations on October 31st must be clearly identifiable. No adults should wear masks or face make up please.
Here's to a safe Halloween!

PTA Invest In Your Child
Invest In Your Child
Box Office Goal - $16,000
Box Office Donations - $5,070
Thank you for helping reach our goal last Thursday! Sunglasses Day was a lot of fun on Friday. It was great to see so many students and staff participate in the celebration. We need all our families to participate in this fund raising campaign. This is our main fundraiser for the year. The PTA needs your generous donations to be able to provide all the things we do for our students and Silver Springs. Your donation makes a difference.
The new goal is $7,000 by Thursday so we can have Hat Day on Friday!
SCHOOL-WIDE T-SHIRT ORDER!
Silver Springs Families~
Last week, we asked all students to submit t-shirt designs for a school-wide contest! These t-shirts can be worn at all school-wide assemblies, class field trips, Leadership Day (Dec.8th) and on NEST days (neighbors–varying aged students, enthusiastically synergizing together).
To express our school unity, we are hoping that every student and staff member order one t-shirt to be worn on the days listed above. These t-shirts will be used for the next two years, so please order accordingly.
ORDERS AND PAYMENT OF ONLY $5 ARE DUE ON NOVEMBER 7TH. T-shirt sizing chart is printed on the reverse side for your convenience. If you have any questions or if ordering this t-shirt presents a financial hardship for your family, please contact Tanya Murphy (murphyta@northvilleschools.org) in the front office for assistance.
