Steeby Elementary
Update
Dear Families
The 2019-2020 school year is coming to an end. As a first year principal, my favorite part of the day was greeting the students in the morning and saying goodbye to them as they boarded the bus in the afternoon. I enjoyed getting to know you and your child this school year. It breaks my heart to know I won't be able to say goodbye to our Supercats on June 5 as we begin summer vacation. This has been a very unique school year, and we appreciate your patience and support during these last few months. Our attendance has been amazing with 95% of our Steeby Supercats participating each week. Thank you for encouraging your child to continue to learn from a distance.
Enjoy your summer and we'll see you in the fall!
-Ms. Johnson- Principal
PICK UP STUDENTS' ITEMS
Our students have many of their personal items still at school. The teachers have been working hard cleaning out desks and lockers to ensure our students get all of their belongings. We will conduct a drive-thru pick up in the bus loop of these items June 3-5. We ask that you pull through the bus loop and a staff member will come to your car and bring you your child's items. We will also have our lost and found items available for you to identify your child's missing clothes. We made a schedule to keep the process more organized. You will notice there are two separate time slots of two hours for each class. Please try to come during your child's scheduled time, but we understand if that is not an option for you.
Girls on the Run Shoes
Girls on the Run participants' shoes will also be available for pick up during this time.
LIBRARY BOOKS
We ask that you return your child's library books during this time. We will collect the books in the bus loop as well. We hope you enjoyed reading our great books, but we need to have them returned so others can enjoy them next school year.
SCHOOL ISSUED IPADS
Your child will keep their school issued ipad during the summer months. If you do not want your child to continue to have the ipad or you have moved out of the district and will not be attending Wayland Union Schools in the fall, you may drop it off during this time.
Kids Heart Challenge 2020
During the month of February our students raised money for the National Heart Association.
Our 2nd and 3rd graders raised $5,629.30! Mrs. Nykerk's class was our Top Class for Dollars Raised. They raised $1,023.
Great job Steeby Supercats!
OUR BUILDING MAY BE CLOSED BUT LEARNING CONTINUES!!!
