STATE ACCOUNTABILITY TRAINING FOR PRINCIPALS

The Accountability Overview held during November's Feeder Meeting was the tip of the iceberg as it relates to knowing and understanding how your school will be measured and essentially rated. For that reason, you are encouraged to attend one of the three hour sessions being held at the district level. When you attend the meeting, be sure to have access to your 2014 STAAR/EOC data so you can connect prior data points to this year's implications. Space is limited to 30 participants per session! Click here for the memo that is in this week's WAIP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH SESSION YOU CHOOSE TO ATTEND.

The Multi-Language Department has funds available to support your before/after school and Saturday School tutoring programs for ELL students who did not meet the state's standards in reading and/or math. Schools must attend an application orientation session on Tuesday, December 2 or Thursday, December 4 from 4-6 at the Buckner Building to receive an application. Applications are due December 12. Please see the memo in this week's WAIP for additional information.

A Note From Your Executive Director...

"Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.”
― Zig Ziglar

Principal Team,

I trust that you had a restful break and that you are back to work to completely focused on the teaching and learning that will take place over the next three weeks! Now is the time to check your instructional compasses to ensure that your efforts are continually headed in the right direction. That is, the direction that will lead you and your campuses to your final goal of success.

I understand that our students will be taking the ACP exams during last week and I want to remind campuses without early release to expect for teachers to resume instruction after the exams are over. For campuses with early release, please ensure that your time is spent wisely each afternoon. (professional development or professional planning)

Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence! Here's to another great week of teaching and learning!

Ms. Hill
