What to expect if your child has symptoms of Covid-19 while at school.
*If your student has 1 major symptom (New Cough, New loss of taste or smell, or shortness of breath or difficulty breathing) or two or more minor symptoms (fever or chills, muscle or body ache, Headache, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea, or Fatigue ) of Covid-19 you will be contacted by the school nurse to pick up your child.
*She will advise you to contact your health care provider for a medical evaluation.
* If your student is diagnosed with Covid-19 or tested positive for Covid-19, he or she can return to school when a parent/guardian can ensure that they can answer YES to ALL three questions:
1. Has it been at least 10 days since the student first had Symptoms?
2. Has it been at least 24 hours since the student had a fever (without fever reducing medicine)?
3. Has there been symptom improvement, including cough and shortness of breath?
*IF your student has received an alternative diagnosis that would explain the Covid-19 like symptoms, he or she can return to school following the advice of their healthcare provider/doctor and school policies. A doctor’s excuse with a return date and doctor’s signature will be required.
***IF your child has not been seen by a healthcare provider, they can return after at least 10 days from the date the first symptoms began once there is no fever and they have felt well for 24 hours.
*Report to the school nurse the results and outcome.
What to expect if your child is identified as a close contact of Suspected or Confirmed Covid-19 case
*If your child had close contact (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes) in the last 48 hours of someone diagnosed with Covid-19 or is exhibiting major symptoms, the nurse will contact you.
*Your child should remain out of school for 14 days since the last known contact.
*If your student becomes symptomatic during this time, have them evaluated by their health care provider and report to the school nurse the results and outcome of the medical evaluation.
*If your student tests positive during this time and remains asymptomatic, he or she can return to school after it has been at least 10 days since the positive test result.
*If your student tests negative during this time, they must complete the full 14 days of quarantine.

please help us by paying your fees and donations! We are behind this year!
frequently asked fee questions
2. What is the postage fee for? This helps offset the cost of mailed information such as registration packets, report cards, etc. that have been necessary during the pandemic.
3. What is the instructional donation? This donation is for instructional supplies such as classroom library books, math resources and games, basic supplies such as paper, pens, markers, art supplies, classroom magazine subscriptions, craft supplies for parent mementos, printer cartridges, and computer software. We may also use these funds to purchase student rewards and incentives. This goes directly to the classrooms and allows teachers more flexibility with purchases than with the state funds they receive.
4. Where is the yearbook charge? We are waiting to see what our yearbook will be like and the cost since everything we are doing this year is different!
5. What is Storyworks or Scholastic News? In 1st - 5th grades, we use classroom magazines to supplement our reading instruction. These are high interest for our students and come with a digital component. We appreciate the help since these are cost prohibitive for just the school to purchase them for our students.
6. My fees seem less this year. What is the difference? Last year, we collected all field trip fees at the same time as registration fees. This year, we will collect field trip fees at the time of the trip if we are able to have any field trips.
7. My child doesn't have a Chromebook, so do I need the protection plan? All students in K-5 will be issued a Chromebook soon. We are still waiting on the K-2nd grade devices. We are unsure if you will be able to pay for the protection plan later in the year. If you do not have the protection plan and your child's device gets damaged, you will be charged for the repair.
8. What is the additional donation? Prior to last year, our suggested donation was $50. We changed it to $25 to be more aligned to other elementary schools in the district. Some families may want to add the additional donation to help our school.
