Principal's Den
I hope you are all healthy and staying safe. Welcome to Kindness Week. Our district's initiative to promote kindness continues this school year through our Hearts YOUnited campaign. I hope you join us in helping promote kindness. Take time out to compliment your friends and family. You may want to reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a long time to let them know you care about them. You may also want to thank your teacher, instructional assistant, nutrition service provider, or school's office employee. We have first responders to thank, veterans, and of course your parents and guardians.
We are getting ready for our Thanksgiving holiday and I'd like to share some of the things I'm thankful for. I am thankful for my wonderful family, friends, and countless blessings. I am so thankful to be the principal at Cloverdale Elementary, the best school in our district. We have the very best students and I am very proud of all of you. We also have the very best staff that cares about each and everyone of you. Lastly, we have the best parents and guardians that love and support you. I hope you take a moment to reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for and you will use that knowledge to be the light in someone's path, help someone in need, and lead by example in all things great.
There will be no classes next week in celebration of Thanksgiving Week. I hope you all stay safe and healthy. Take care of yourselves and each other by wearing a mask and practicing social distance. Remember, the sooner we can get this epidemic under control, the sooner we'll be able to return to school.
This week we will be distributing free headphones to and mice to each one of our students. Please stop by during grab n go lunch from 11 to 1. On Wednesday we will be setup to distribute headphones and mice from 9am to 3pm.
Thank you,
At Cloverdale we strive to be Leaders by Example. As I mention to our students during announcements, this means that we always try to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
As part of our school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), we also learn to ROAR. This is a matrix that exemplifies our core values of being Respectful, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible.
We also know that a FAIL is only a First Attempt in Learning and that we learn best from our mistakes. When someone makes a mistake we say "It's Cool!"
Sincerely,
Genaro García
