Academic Games News
We would like to recognize the following students for participating in this year's New Orleans Academic Games League Presidents tournament: Andrew Rooney, Carson Cody, Ben Kornman, Pete Metzinger, Gloria Ruiz, Courtade Carrere, Katie Lawton, Ellie Gardner, Paolo Guillen, and Danny Odem. Congratulations on a job well done! A special shout out to Andrew Rooney who was the highest scoring 4th grader!
4th Grade Play
And we are off! We have started our practices, highlighted our scripts, and are carefully going over our lines. Please be on the look out for a copy of the script as well as a letter detailing costume information for your child in the Tuesday Folder. Please work with your child on memorizing his/her lines over the next few weeks, this will be crucial in pulling off a successful play!
Band Concert
Our 4th graders, who take band, are excited to show off what they have been working on. Please join them February 2nd at 7:00 p.m. in the Salem theatre as they perform music that they have learned this year. It should be a fun night!
Math
As we learn new concepts this year it is important that we continue to practice concepts already taught. There are a few websites that we wanted to share with you that are great for increasing your child's math fact fluency.
Pennies for Patients
Friday will be the last day to bring in your pennies to support the Lymphoma and Leukemia society. The 4th grade goal is $300.00 and we are so close to reaching it! The class raising the most money will win a pizza party!
Mardi Gras Information
Please make sure you read the Flame as it contains important information regarding aftercare for the next few weeks. Although school will not close early there are a few days that aftercare will not be offered.
Have a great week!
