All students (100% distance learners and hybrid learners) will take the SOL on Mondays in May. SOLs must be administered in a secure testing environment which means students will come into the building. Bus transportation will be provided, or parents may drop off students.
If you would like to opt your student out of taking the May SOL tests, the hard deadline is today - Friday, April 9. If you have already opted out your child, you do not need to complete this form again.
Testing Dates:
May 3: Reading (All 6th, 7th & 8th graders)
May 10: Science (All 8th graders) and Math (All 6th graders)
May 17: Math (All 7th & 8th graders)

SUMMER SCHOOL
- FWS will be hosting a summer skill recovery session in English and Math from June 28 to July 29. The program will be held at Trailside Middle School due to FWS being under construction this summer. Transportation will be provided. The program will meet Monday through Thursday from 9am to 1pm. Tuition is free.
- Invitations to this program will be sent home via email in April. If you have further questions, please contact Kathleen.Pollock@lcps.org.
DAMAGED CHROMEBOOK?
- Now is a good time to report any damages that have occurred to your student's LCPS Chromebook. Either make an appointment at the Hardware Repair Center in Ashburn (click HERE to make an appointment) or visit Farmwell's Tech Office in Lab3 if your student is a hybrid student.
- A student may be able to use the device but a damaged one could be unsafe or create a disruption during class or testing. If left unreported until later, the damage may not be covered by Lenovo under our warranty. It's best to report damage as it occurs.
HOW TO MANUALLY UPDATE CHROMEBOOK SOFTWARE
Follow these steps:
- Turn on your Chromebook.
- Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings.
- At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
- Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
- Select Check for updates.
- If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
You can also review this simulator for instructions on this process.
Note: If your Chromebook uses your phone's internet connection or its own mobile data, you'll get an alert about how much mobile data it needs to update. You can then stop or continue with the update.
PARENTVUE PUSH NOTIFICATIONS DISABLED

Parents may opt-in or opt-out of push notifications for Grade Book and Period/Daily Attendance information on Android devices. Parents may also opt-in or opt-out of emails for Grade Book and Period Attendance information using either the ParentVUE Mobile app or web version. Click HERE for English directions or HERE for Spanish directions.

WHERE IS OREO?
- Students logged 48 books yesterday and unlocked the last two clues! That means it's time to solve this mystery!
- Students will need to make a copy of the final clue to their Google Drive and review all the information they collected from the previous nine clues. Once they think they have the answer, they can go to the Solve the Mystery page and fill out the Google Form. The deadline to submit their answer is Tuesday (April 13) morning.
- All students who have logged at least one book and correctly solve the mystery before the answer is revealed will earn the Super Sleuth digital badge, and the first student in each grade level who has logged at least one book AND correctly solves the mystery will win a mystery prize pack.
