Clinic News
Please remember to email attendance@wca-hsv.org if your child is absent due to the flu or another illness. This will aid the nurse in keeping track of what specific illnesses are currently active in the school. Also, remind your student to come see the nurse when they are not feeling well as this will allow her to track illnesses as well.
A friendly reminder: Students must be symptom-free (including, but not limited to fever, rashes, vomiting, etc.) for the past 24 hours without fever-reducing medication. If your child has started on antibiotics, they may return 24 hours after the first dose was given.
Flu Information:
People who have the flu often feel some or all of these signs and symptoms that usually start suddenly, not gradually:- Fever* or feeling feverish/chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle or body aches
- Headaches
- Fatigue (very tired)
- Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in young children than in adults.
*Itβs important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.
