Good afternoon Firebird families, it's been a great week here for our students and staff. And we're gearing up for next week's Spirit Week! This will be a great chance for our Firebird community to get together and celebrate everything that makes our schools awesome. Be sure to check out the Spirit Week schedule, February 22-26!

Minocqua J1 Drama Productions Presents... "Frogspell!"
"Frogspell" opens TONIGHT!! Performances are tonight at 6:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm. This is a fun, whimsical production for the whole family - come support our hardworking young actors, and enjoy an evening (or afternoon) of theater!
Loop Around the Lake 2016
Loop Around the Lake returns on Saturday, February 27 with a 5K candlelit event starting at 6:00 pm at The Thirsty Whale on Lake Minocqua. Following the event there will be food and a bonfire, with our Wish Lantern illumination at 7:30 pm.

"Counseling Corner"
How can you support your teen? a) cheer on the side lines, b) give high fives, c) look out for his or her best interests, d) make a banner to encourage him or her.
Supporting and encouraging your child goes beyond being a good cheerleader. Looking out for your child’s best interests is an important way to show support for your child.

"Oklahoma!" at Lakeland Union High School
Rogers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! will be performed next week Thursday-Monday, February 25-29 in the Lakeland Union High School's NEW! auditorium.
Set in Oklahoma Territory outside the town of Claremore in 1906, Oklahoma! is a classic cowboy romance, sure to entertain young and old. It'll be a great show, performed by LUHS' fabulous performers!

Girls on the Run - registration OPEN!
Girls on the Run of the Northwoods inspires 3rd-5th grade girls to be confident, kind, and healthy by using a fun, experienced-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run of the Northwoods has recruited some amazing coaches this season at MHLT! We encourage girls in grades 3-5 to take part in this incredible journey starting Tuesday, March 1.
This is a 10-week after-school program that meets from 3:30-5:00 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays at MHLT, from March 1 - May 21. The goal of this program is to confidently finish the Girls on the Run 5K at Torpy Park on Saturday, May 21.

WINTER FUN @ MINOCQUA PUBLIC LIBRARY!
SCIENCE SATURDAY: All About Hearts
TOMORROW at 10:00 am. Learn about your most important muscle – your heart! How does it work? Can you work harder/faster than your heart? Also, make an edible “heart” model and take home a bottle of blood! For ages 6 and up. Registration required; call the library to see if there's still space! (715) 356-4437
Family Game Nights
Mondays evenings, February 15 – March 14, 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Families can come together at the library for some good-spirited competition and fun! The library will provide a variety of games, or you can bring your own - snacks too!
After-School Game Nights
Thursday afternoons, February 18 – March 17, 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Kids 11 years and older can hang out at the library and play traditional board games, card games, Wii games and more! Feel free to bring a favorite game to share; snacks provided.
