Greetings!

Welcome to the first week of school in SLP Schools Online K-8! I’ve had the opportunity to visit with several families to answer questions and to provide support as staff and students worked through a WebEx snag yesterday. What I learned most from these conversations is that students are ready to begin learning, teachers are ready to begin connecting with students and families, and families are incredibly flexible and supportive! Thank you for your patience and understanding over the last several days as we get things up and running.

  • K-6 online learners, including Spanish Immersion: The next few days will be filled with opportunities for the teacher to get to know your child and for the children to get to know each other. If you haven’t already scheduled a WebEx conference with your child’s teacher, please do so. Teachers are looking forward to learning more about their students from you.
  • Grades 7-8: As a reminder, the first day of scheduled classes for grades 7-8 will be Monday, September 13. This week, we have seven teachers for these students who will be connecting with students to begin establishing relationships and to initial social connections. Schedules for students will be available on September 10 through Campus Parent Portal and the schedule will begin on Monday, September 13.

Thanks again for your support as we start the 2021-2022 school year. The partnership between home and school is invaluable. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I have already enjoyed connecting with many of you!

Take care,

Kimberly Fehringer
