Hi All,

I hope that you're enjoying vacation week! As we look forward to the last week of February and the beginning of March, I want to flag registration for next year, Semester 2 Teacher Conferences, and MCAS.

Course registration begins next week. Student assemblies will take place Tuesday, February 25th through Thursday, February 27th beginning with 11th grade and finishing with 9th grade. During the assemblies, students will learn about course offerings for next year and the course registration process. The new Program of Studies will be available on the MHS website starting on February 25th (located on the right side of the MHS home page under "Shortcuts," or on the "Students" top tab page under "Student Resources, Forms and Schedules"). The Aspen X2 portal will be open for registration from February 25th through March 6th.

Teacher conferences will take place on March 12th from 12:00 to 2:30, and again from 6:30-8:30PM. Students will receive conference sign-up forms in class this coming week. Please ask for them and sign up for a slot- these conferences are primarily intended to give you an opportunity to meet any new teachers your child may have for Semester 2, and to get a progress update for year-long courses as needed.

Finally, MCAS testing for all sophomores begins in March with ELA on the 24th and 25th. Prior to testing, we will hold a mandatory infrastructure trial on March 10th in the morning. The infrastructure trial is a practice run to ensure that students can find their testing classrooms, log on, and try a few practice questions on the computer. We will communicate directly to students regarding the infrastructure trial in the days to come so that everyone knows where to go and what to do.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the remainder of vacation week!

Best regards,

Mary Watkins
