Principal Message

Dear Lyn Knoll Families,

Welcome Back! I hope you had a fun and relaxing summer! We are so excited that you are a member of our Lyn Knoll family and we look forward to continuing to provide our students with a rigorous and engaging education in a safe and welcoming school environment! Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren)’s return while our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Finally, our hard working custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility to prepare for a new year! As we prepare for the new year, I’d like to highlight a few reminders for our families.

First, we are excited to offer FREE after school programming for all Lyn Knoll students in grades K-5 through Rocky Mountain Kids. After school programming will be available from 3:00pm-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Parents must register their child through Rocky Mountain Kids- please use this link to register your child: www.rmkcolorado.com and use code: lynknoll at checkout. There is no enrollment fee for Lyn Knoll students. We welcome the staff of Rocky Mountain Kids to the Lyn Knoll family and are confident they are able to provide a safe and engaging after school program to all of our students!

Aurora Public Schools has made a commitment to ensure Lyn Knoll has a school building that is safe for our students and staff. Beginning August 2, construction will begin on a new main office that will be located closer to the main entrance of the building. This new location will ensure that visitors of Lyn Knoll must enter the building through the main office. This will ensure all visitors sign-in and are verified before being permitted to walk to classrooms. We anticipate construction to be completed by September 20th. Most construction will occur after school and on the weekends so we do not anticipate any disruption with student learning.

On Monday, August 5, we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Back to School Festival from 3:00pm-6:00pm. All families are invited to join us to meet our teachers and staff as well as register for the new school year. Food, games, and free hair cuts will be available for all Lyn Knoll students. We look forward to seeing you there!

At Lyn Knoll, we strive to ensure our students LEARN, LEAD, and LIFT! We are grateful for your commitment to ensure that Lyn Knoll remains a great school for our students. It continues to be an honor and privilege to serve as your principal and together I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.

Sincerely,

Dr. Shawn Graziani, Principal Lyn Knoll Elementary

Visitor Check-In Requirements

Aurora Public Schools and Lyn Knoll have implemented the District-Wide Raptor Security System to check in our visitors. This system reviews a nationwide database to check backgrounds on individuals that visit our school, including all APS employees, authorized Volunteers and District Approved Contractors, prior to conducting business within our buildings.

It is required that you provide us with your government issued ID (i.e. drivers license, passport, matricula consular, state issued ID) which will then be scanned in the system. You will then be issued a visitor sticker that must be worn at all times while you are in the building and must be returned to the office upon exiting the building. Please be prepared with identification every time you visit our school. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this safety system, please contact our office. For more detailed information, you may click the link below or contact our APS Security department directly.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Volunteers

We are always looking for volunteers to assist within our school. If you are interested in becoming a district approved volunteer, please contact our Family Liaison, Ms. Herrera.
