U.I.L. Tryouts Next Week! Deadline to Sign-Up is Sunday, September 19th at 3 PM!
This information below went out as an email this past week to all parents who have students in grades 2-6. If you have already signed up your student(s) to try out for U.I.L., please do not do it again. If you have not and would like your child to try out, please click on the link below. The sign up will close on Sunday, September 19th at 3 PM!
If your child is staying for a try out this next week, please plan for them to stay and be picked up at the time given in the form. There will not be reminders or other emails sent out, we are just anticipating your children will stay since you signed them up to try out. Thank you!!
Parents,
It’s that time again! We will begin trying out for U.I.L. contests next week. Once we determine who will be participating in each event, we will begin preparing for the contest. For those of you who do not have experience with U.I.L., here is some additional information. UIL stands for University Interscholastic League, an organization that governs all athletic and academic contests in the state of Texas. U.I.L. academic programs are designed to support basic curriculum and allow students to apply what they learn in the classroom. Students do this by selecting a contest to enter, spend a couple of months practicing the concepts after school under supervision of a coach, and then compete at the district-wide contest on January 8, 2022.

Reminder - Celebrating Birthdays
- Birthdays are not celebrated at school, although a parent or grandparent may provide food (pre-wrapped, individual treat) to share for a student’s birthday. Please be aware that children in the school may have severe allergies to certain food products. Therefore, it is imperative to discuss any classroom allergies with the teacher before bringing food to share. If sent, birthday treats will be passed out as students leave the building.
- Non-edible items are also allowed, but need to be individually wrapped. If brought, they will go home with children at the end of the day.
- Invitations to parties should not be distributed at school, by the teacher or the student. If you would like to share an invite, you may consider sending something digital. Each year PTA provides a directory to all families that join PTA. This may help you in obtaining the information you need. Please do not ask the teacher for personal information about a student or their families. We are unable to share it.
Reminder - Lunch Visitors
We are now allowing lunch visitors. We’re asking visitors who come for lunch to sit in our Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), which limits the exposure to other students. Visitors may not enter the cafeteria at any time. Therefore, only students may purchase lunch, visitors may not. To ensure we have enough space, only one visitor per child is allowed. Younger siblings may also join the visitor. Please review the lunch visitor expectations below. In addition, here is the current lunch schedule.
