Information for PHS Parents and Guardians:
I hope you had a great Fall Break. 2nd Trimester is off and running and we continue to evaluate our new Trimester course structure. As with any new system, there have been a few things that we are looking to adjust both now and for next year, but overall we have seen many positive benefits come from the switch to trimesters. Student performance has been up and they seem to prefer the new 6 class course load.
Our midway point of the year is just around the corner and that means we are already looking at class offerings for next year and making adjustments to offer our students the best experience possible. A big part of this process is aligning our courses into more direct pathways that help our students take a targeted approach to prepare for life after high school. In the coming months, students will begin to make course selections for next year. Our counselors and teachers will soon be having conversations with students about their goals after high school and what it takes to accomplish these. We encourage you to have these conversations as well and reach out to us if there are any questions you have about how we can all work together to best serve our students.
Don't forget, December 22nd is an early dismissal and Winter break begins Dec 23rd.
