St. Patrick's Day

I told the kids that the leprechauns usually don't come to 2nd grade, but those stinkers did! They emptied out all of their desks! This was a great opportunity for spring cleaning!

In Superkids, we are finishing up our personal narratives. We continue to practice spelling patterns and "memory" (sight/trick) words, as well as parts of speech in our daily Word Work practice. Your child will now be tearing out their workbook pages and bringing them home daily. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Math - $$$

This week we had our math test that assessed counting money. We will continue working with money in topic 14. Please continue to practice to count money and make change with your child. Also, remember to work on addition and subtraction facts as much as possible! Thanks for your support!

Student Section!

Each week, we read this newsletter on the Smartboard before I email it to you. The kids would like to add some things. We will be including a "Student Section". Enjoy!

Mason: We just got back from recess and I am all muddy!

Aiden: It's Ethan's birthday tomorrow!

Isabellah: We all had fun outside!

Jason: So far the day has been good!

Malia: My Grandma put my food in a grape bag.

Braxton: Ethan has a Minecraft game.

Mrs. Simac: I hope that you all have a wonderful and restful weekend!

The Witches by Roald Dahl

We finished reading our class chapter book, The Witches by Roald Dahl. The students also just earned enough "Eagle Feathers" (part of our PBIS incentive program) to watch the movie! We will be watching the movie next week. If you do NOT want your child to watch this movie, please contact me as soon as possible and I will make alternate arrangements for them. Ms. Toivonen just started reading, The BFG - a chapter book also by Roald Dahl. So far, we love it!
