Mission: To prepare each student for a successful future
Now is the Time to Prepare for Regents Exams
The most important month of the school year is upon us. In just a couple of weeks, our students will take their Regents examinations. In order to be eligible to graduate, students are required to pass at least five Regents exams. Therefore, we want to be sure they appropriately prepare, and we very much appreciate your assistance in that effort.
Tips to Prepare for Regents Exams
- Distribute practice; don’t try to cram. Our review session schedule is updated regularly.
- Get plenty of sleep the night before an exam.
- Be sure to eat before your exam (Breakfast and lunch will be served during Regents week.)
- Ask your teachers questions (Teachers remain available for additional support on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:25-2:55.)
- Access study resources including previous Regents exams.
- Resist becoming frustrated during the exam. Students have three hours to complete each Regents exam (students with disabilities may receive additional time); we strongly encourage students to take their time, persevere, and do their best!
Please review the following memo to learn about modified logistics during Regents week. Updated Regents information can be found at this link (including the exam schedule).
We believe strongly in our students and look forward to them demonstrating their academic growth on these upcoming exams!
We are so grateful for the support of our parents throughout the year! Thank you so much for continuing to support your child academically as we approach the end of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

Ryan King Wins Sectionals!
Ryan King came in first for the Class CC 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:28.01 in Avon on May 27th to win the Class CC Sectional Title.
Ryan battled with Gavin Bathgate of East Rochester and Liam Prendergast of Marcus Whitman for a lead in the early laps, but by the middle of the race Bathgate held first and King 2nd as they pulled away from the group. With one and a half laps remaining, King gained speed and momentum shifted his way as he passed Bathgate and took the lead. He did not look back from there and won the race by nearly 9 seconds.
King's Season Best was 10:25.34, but he got the job done in Avon with a well-run and strategic race, winning a Sectional title for the Cougars.
King trails NRW runner Greg Santillo on the all-time leader board for the 3200 meter with a time of 9:45.34 in 1994 but looks forward to a return for his senior season.
In addition he came in 2nd place in the 3000 meter Steeplechase final with a time of 10:49.63 (behind ER's Gavin Bathgate), nearly pulling off an upset in the long distance races. Ryan had a season best of 10:35.86.
Ryan qualified for State Qualifiers in Sodus last Friday and came in 7th with a time of 10:43.52 in the 3000 meter Steeplechase. Congrats, Ryan!
Cooking in Gemini Biology
Gemini Biology students took a moment from their heavy course load for a cooking lesson. Students planned and prepared a plant based meal. Spaghetti squash with a cauliflower Alfredo sauce and peanut butter cookies. Not pictured was a (lentil) dal with aromatic Indian spices and turmeric rice. Foods made from plants are filled with beneficial vitamins and minerals; are less stressful on the environment in terms of greenhouse gases and land use; are less expensive financially and in time to produce; and are low on fat and high in fiber. A plant based diet will help to feed the world’s population. Pictured: Kassidi Lake, Hannah Cook, Taylor Malchoff, Jenna Roelle, and Kiara Ticconi.
