4-H Council Elections
The Otoe County 4-H Council changed the 4-H Council elections voting to the Otoe County 4-H Achievement Celebration. There is a super turnout for the 4-H Achievement Celebration and that date is closer to when the new members take office, so the decision was made to vote during the 4-H Achievement Celebration. This year the 4-H Achievement Celebration will be on Sunday, November 10.
If you would like to place your name on the ballot please contact the Extension Office at 402-269-2301 or a Nominating Committee member - Wendy Boitnott (wboitnot@gmail.com), Paula Ramold (PaulaRamold@yahoo.com) and Andrew Stukenholtz (thestukenholtzs@yahoo.com). Please let us know by Friday, November 1.
The 4-H Council needs one youth and one adult from each of the three districts for a two-year term. The 4-H council meets 10 times a year to provide guidance to the Otoe County 4-H program. Please consider placing your name on the ballot!

All 4-H and FFA animals will need to have a 48 hour CVI completed in 2019.
• Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) is required for all animals (with the exception of 4H rabbits and poultry)

That CVI must also contain the federal VS statement: "The animals represented on the CVI have not originated from premises or area under quarantine for Vesicular Stomatitis or a premises on which Vesicular Stomatitis has been diagnosed in the last (30) days. I have examined the animals and found no signs of Vesicular Stomatitis." Animals will be observed once on the grounds. All horses will be examined daily by a veterinarian!
• Sheep & Goat Fungus Check • A veterinarian and staff will be examining animals for active fungus at the livestock check-in trailer (Brunk’s Lot) • Any animal being found to have active fungus will not be allowed to show or allowed on the grounds • Animals with inactive or dead fungus will be allowed to show, provided the on staff veterinarian approves
