DROP EVERYTHING AND READ is coming up!
DEAR- Drop Everything & Read will be Friday, March 4 at 10:30 am. This event encourages students, teachers and staff to stop for 20 minutes and read for pleasure. Please know that we want everyone to participate. MNPS will be giving away 3 iPad mini’s to the library that has the highest percentage of participation. Last year over 56,000 students and teachers participated across Davidson County.

Upcoming Tennessee History and Social Studies Workshops for Teachers
The Tennessee State Library and Archives has an exciting lineup of teacher workshops this spring and summer! Join us for hands-on activities with primary sources exploring World War II and The New Deal! The first 5 workshops, scheduled for Crossville, Union City, Henderson, and Sevierville require simple registration. To register, email your name, grade level, and school to the corresponding contact person. The last workshop listed is our annual summer teacher institute. Spots in this workshop are highly competitive, therefore an application process is necessary.

Focusing on the 5th grade and High School social studies curriculum, this workshop looks at the impact of various New Deal agencies on Tennessee’s landscape.
