Jay Stream has seen and increase in students arriving tardy to school. While we understand the winter weather may make the morning routine slower, please assist your student in getting to school on time. Students who arrive late are missing important classes and content and may need to makeup missed work during lunch or after school.

Graduation picture proofs for all 8th graders who took pictures last month were sent home with your student this past week. Please contact the school office with any questions about pictures. A makeup date will be held on March 21 for any student who was absent or for any family who would like a retake.

Jay Stream will host the girls Jayhawk Jam basketball tournament on February 11. The PTA is looking for volunteers to help run the concession stand. If you plan to attend or would like to assist, please consider signing up for a time slot.

The universal expectations below were shared with all students and families at the beginning of the school year. As a best practice, we remind all students of these expectations in January after coming back from winter break. Please take a moment to revisit these with your student.

Cell Phones/AirPods - Cell phones and AirPods are expected to be turned off and put away upon entering the building. Cell phones and AirPods can either be put in the student's locker or the student's backpack. All students are able to carry backpacks throughout the day.

Lockers - In addition to visiting their locker before and after school, students are able to visit their locker before and after lunch.

Hoods - Upon entering the building, any student who is wearing their hood up will be asked students to put it down. Students are permitted to wear hats or religious headware.

The next Jay Stream PTA meeting is February 27 at 6:30 pm in the Jay Stream Innovation Center. A Zoom link will be shared at a later date for any member who wishes to attend but is unable to meet in person. We hope to see you there!
