WCTC Summer Camp Opportunities
Continuing Education is excited to offer our annual GEMS program which brings middle school girls and their parents, teachers, community leaders, and successful professional women together in an effort to boost knowledge and interest in various areas of math, science, and engineering.
Our unique program allows girls ages 11 to 14 to choose five, hands-on workshops taught by successful professionals in those fields to establish connections and friendships with like-minded girls of the same age group. Early registration is encouraged as workshops fill up quickly!
Workshops include:
· A Look Inside the Bovine Hide
· Trauma Nurse 101
· Fancy Feet: Shoe Design Engineering
· Water Wonderful World
· What’s Behind Those Criminal Minds?
· Environmental Engineering 101
· A Peek into Python Programming!

Meet our 2019 Keynote Speaker, Andrea Bequest!
Andrea Bequest is a physician assistant working in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital. She graduated from Carroll University with a biology and biochemistry degree in 2009 and went on to complete Physician Assistant School at Marquette University in 2012. She has been working as a PA for 6 years. Prior to working at Froedtert Hospital, she worked in an outpatient internal medicine clinic and at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. Her passion is education of future physician assistants and she precepts several PA students from area programs around Wisconsin each year. She is a member of American Association of University Women, advocating for women’s education, especially in STEM fields.

Color Craze
The Color Craze is a colorful and crazy 5K which is fun for the whole family! It’s an event that promotes exercising and leading a healthier lifestyle. You can walk, crawl, sprint, cartwheel or jog as long as you're having a good time! The Color Craze 5K will benefit the clubs, activities and athletics at Butler Middle School. Bring out your friends, family and furry friends on Saturday, May 18th! Register here.

Student Safety
Please talk to your child about using the crosswalks around Butler if they walk or get dropped off. Before and after school, Michigan and Hine Avenues are extremely busy. We have two crossing guards in the morning and two in the afternoon. Also, please continue to drive slowly and carefully around school.
