SDMS Summer Reading 2023
& Enrichment Learning Activities
Wethersfield Public Schools Incoming Grades 7 and 8 Summer Reading & Enrichment Activities 2023
Summer is a great time to relax, have fun, and read a good book! Participating in reading and other learning activities over the summer is critical to helping students maintain skills from the school year.
The purpose of Wethersfield Public Schools’ Summer Reading Program and other learning activities is to encourage students to become lifelong readers and “learners” and provide them with fun and engaging ways to practice their skills.

PARTICIPATE!
We have set a goal for 100% participation by SDMS students in summer reading activities.
A digital or paper reading log for listing the titles and authors of books must also be completed.
Students have the option of:
1. Completing the Online Google Form available through Wethersfield Library
2. Printing a reading log and hand writing the information
3. Using an Editable Google Doc
If a reading log other than the Google Form is used, it must be signed by a parent/guardian and turned into each student’s Language Arts teacher within the first week of school. The Online Google Form will be submitted automatically to teachers.

SUMMER LEARNING: DIGITAL RESOURCES FOR CONTINUED LEARNING
Wethersfield Public Schools also offers a broad array of digital learning resources or in person programs available for families looking to provide more enrichment and learning opportunities for students during the summer months. Please visit our Continue Learning Across Summer Session (CLASS) website.
If you are looking for guidance on independent learning opportunities for your child across content areas, please contact your his/her teacher(s) prior to the end of the school year for specific digital learning resources and areas of focus that would be beneficial during the summer months.
Have a wonderful summer!
