Breaking News!!!
A Teacher and Principal Perspective
Here are 2 questions we asked and Lori's responses:
1. What benefits did Pensieve provide to teachers at your school?
-ability to monitor student progress so that teachers can respond to individual student needs
-documentation from small group instruction in terms of student growth and areas to focus future instruction on
-Teachers can share and add to each others pensieve. If an LRT, TL, or Early Reading teacher also works with a student you can add notes to the same file to come up with a very comprehensive document of learning
-reporting became a breeze with current data on each student (knowledge demonstrated and goals for future learning)
-It is a great way to continually assess learning
2. For new teachers, why would you recommend Pensive?
-You can respond to individual student needs because you have this information documented
-Notes are organized and easy to share. It makes planning and reporting a breeze
-You will get to know your students better through documentation of their skills and areas they have yet to master
-Report cards become easier with so much information that is easily organized and accessible
-Student/Parent accountability
-The online Pensieve has templates and lessons built right into the program (if a child in grade 2 is struggling with making inferences it provides you with a list of lessons and strategies to teach!)
