Hour of Code
After you have signed up, let your students get on code.org and create their own dance party. There are also other projects they can do. The challenge is to get kids interested in computer science by exposing them to an hour of coding activities. Current stats for Kentucky: 434 computer science graduates, 2,873 open computing jobs in KY. The Hour of Code initiative is December 3 - 9th.
Send me pics of your students participating next week and I'll put your name in a drawing for a $25 Walmart gift card.
Warren Kelly found this online PD opportunity to learn more about Hour of Code. It's Monday, December 3, from 5 to 6 pm. You can register for the workshop here.

Google Forms for Quizzes
What's happening - kids can see their quiz results, missed questions, and correct answers immediately after submitting. They are taking pictures of the answers and texting them to kids in later periods.
How to stop it - Under settings, click Quizzes. Then select to release the grade "Later, after manual review", which means results will be emailed. After all periods and make-ups have taken the test, email your students their results.
For a great tutorial on using Google Forms for quizzes, check out the GSuite Learning Center. This link takes you directly to the "Get Started with Quizzes" section.
