From our Principal
Kia ora e te whanau o Puketapu,
This year is racing along, with only a few busy weeks left.
For some, it is nearing the end of this stage of their learning journey. We have 35 Year 8 students heading to high school in 2021. Many of them are excited and really looking forward to going, many are nervous and anxious, many are a bit of both. We are looking forward to celebrating their last few weeks together with Year 8 Camp and Graduation and reflecting on their time at Puketapu.
Already underway are our transitions for our 2021 new entrant students. Starting last week and over the next three weeks, we are transitioning in the first 16 new entrant students and their families, ready for their first ever days at school at the start of next year.
Thank you to our teachers for their learning comments based around our school values which are part of our end of year reporting to parents. We look forward to putting them out to all whanau on Hero on Friday this week after an awesome day of Whanau Tabloid Sports.
Kia pai to wiki,

Year 8 Camp
Set on the shores of the Lake Karapiro Finlay Park was converted from farmland to a permanent camp site in 1946. Since then the facilities have been expanded and there are activities available for all skill and age groups either on or off the water. The outdoor activities aim to provide an opportunity for all campers to be challenged at each individuals level and provide each child the opportunity to succeed at challenges presented to them.
It is going to be a great, fun, learning experience!

SOMADD... Just over 2 weeks away!
It is our learning theme for this term and provides the material for our end of year Community Concert. Every child in every class has a part to play and we are practicing and getting everything ready to show you.
It is now just a little over two weeks until we perform for our community and we are excited!
Show starts 6.00pm Friday 4 December - book in the date!
There will be food on sale before the show, so we invite everyone to come along from 5.00pm to join us on the quad at school. Food sales stop before the start of the show at 6.00pm so don't be late.
We will also be having lots of Raffles, so bring some cash for raffle tickets.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to seeing everyone there - Friday 4 December - it is going to be great!
Kowhai Restaurants
They’ve been working hard to create menus, design logos and come up with creative names for their businesses.
We even made a video about our own restaurant, with Mrs Perry as our first customer...
Totara Athletics Showcase Next Week
Week 7, Wednesday, 25 November, 2020 is our Totara Athletics Showcase
Parents please arrive at 11:40 for an 11:50 start. Come and watch as your children display their athletic abilities in javelin, discus, shot put, team replays and high and long jump. Your children have been working all term on developing their athleticism.
They will need covered shoes to protect their feet, covered shoulders to protect them from the sun, a sunhat, sunscreen applied before school and a drink bottle of water to help keep them hydrated.
We look forward to seeing you there - ALL WELCOME.
Thanks and best wishes, The Totara Team.
