8th Grade Math Curriculum Night
On Thursday Feb. 2nd, parents, teachers and students gathered at Bunche Middle for the 8th Grade Curriculum Night. Parents received information on the upcoming Georgia Milestones and resources to assist their children at home. Our outstanding veteran Math teacher Mrs. Nyomba led parents through a technology integrated activity using Think Through Math. This web based site is used as Bunche Middle’s school wide Math Intervention program.
Think Through Math personalizes instruction by creating pathways for students to remediate the Math Georgia Standards of Excellence based on data from the students’ placement assessment. Teachers can also create pathways for students to remediate standards based on data from classroom and school wide formative assessments.
Mrs. Nyomba gave parents a brief overview of the five instructional steps students are taken through on TTM and then had parents placed in the role of students. Each parent logged into Think Through Math as a student and were engaged in a learning opportunity to demonstrate to the parents how technology is integrated into the Math Classroom.
Parents were also given an opportunity to ask additional questions about the Georgia Milestones that take place this April and the Math curriculum.
Great job Mrs. Nyomba for showing how technology is used at Bunche to support our students and representing the Bunche Math Team!
