Pirate Pride!
Last weekend I was able to watch as several teachers from India Hook (Heather Wilson, Stacy Bunchman, Austin Calquoun, and Lesslie Pursley) participated in the Gobble Wobble: 8K to support All American Athletes (which, by the way, is an AMAZING program that Mrs. Pursley has developed!) It was awesome to see the strong support these women have for each other, their health, and their desire to help those in our community. After running my first 5K the weekend before, I have a great respect for the effort ALL participants put into preparing and enduring such an event. Especially Heather Wilson. She rocked it out and finished third last Saturday (and is thinking about becoming the next spokeswoman for bio-freeze :). You rock ladies!! Your passion and determination are inspiring, both in and out of the classroom! These people and their actions make me even MORE proud to be a PIRATE!!
Watch Out for Mrs. Rodgers!
Mrs. Rogers is doing her part to make sure food is not wasted in the cafeteria in the mornings. She smelled bacon and came to the cafeteria to get some only to be told it had all been given to the children. So, the question is....how did she end up with bacon? Hmmm. It is good for our children to see the adults in the building having a good time and creating an inviting atmosphere. Thank you, Mrs. Rogers, for adding to the fun!
The Power of Ms. Powers
Ms. Powers is dedicated to knowing and understanding the details of her students' learning. She reviews assessments with them individually and uses the review to teach and remediate. Her attention to detail, dedication, and love of learning shine through her efforts and her students' success!
