Message from the Principal
Hello Prairie Friends & Families,
We are only 5 school days away from Spring Break! What a better way to celebrate March Madness than with a Rainbow Day AND Prairie's first school-wide Ro Sham Bo tournament! All of our learners use Ro Sham Bo (many of us know it as rock, paper, scissors) as a conflict resolution strategy outside at recess and in the classroom. To reinforce this quick, fun conflict resolution strategy, we're going to participate in a tournament where we finish with ONE Prairie Ro Sham Bo Champion! Coach Courtney, our Playworks Manager, will facilitate a classroom tournament with each class during practice recess time. Staff will participate in their own tournament throughout the week. The champion from each classroom will come to the champions tournament on Thursday to face off against the other finalists. Wear the color assigned to your grade level on Thursday, March 25th to cheer on your grade level in the tournament! We will stream the tournament into classrooms so that all Prairie Pumas are able to cheer on their friends and teachers. See the assigned colors below. We're looking forward to all of the fun next week!
Trimester 2 report cards are available for viewing today in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

GOT SNEAKERS FUNDRAISER: Thank you to all of those who have already donated shoes to our fundraiser. As spring cleaning is starting up remember this is an ongoing fundraiser so keep searching for shoes! Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help Prairie PTA? Prairie PTA is participating in a fundraiser where you donate your shoes. All we need is your support and your gently worn, used ,or new sneakers! Here’s how you can help. Start in your and your family’s closets and gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support Prairie PTA AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
All you have to do is send your children to school with your sneakers or drop them off at school. Please no boots or dress shoes or sandals. Every pair that is donated earns up to $7 per pair.
