ORIOLE TIME/HOMEROOM
Oriole time-48 students responded to the end of the year survey regarding block scheduling and Oriole time. A few of the comments included more offerings such as photography, foreign language and climbing wall as an option. If you have not shared with me what you would like to offer for Oriole time please do so-we need to get more students involved. I also heard several comments that students did not like block scheduling with teachers who just lectured most of the time or lectured and gave work time. Please review your lessons so that all staff offer engaging activities during block days.
Haiku, skyward, attendance
Becky in the office does a great job with attendance but we do need attendance to be taken at the start of class. If you are having any problems please let me know.
Skyward grades must be updated for parents/students as much as possible-minimally every two weeks if not more.
Thank you for keeping parents updated through skyward, phone calls home and emails if necessary. Please also encourage students to stay after school for support.
CAPP
Masters in your core area is preferred but not required. It was shared that 18 credits of graduate work in that area would need to take place-for example do not need a Masters in math, but preferred otherwise would need to show your masters has 18 credits that are "math" content courses. If you would like any info please let me know. CAPP instructors right now if they teach a class of 10 or more students also receive $650 per course from UW-Oshkosh as well as $300 for Professional Development.
